The corona virus spread panic in the world and swallowed many lives. It also weakened poor countries economically. Lockdown will cause these countries to face severe inflation and economic crisis. More than 28% of the people in our country are living on the brink of poverty. We also have two types of poverty, firstly those who are unemployed, and have no permanent business, and secondly those who have their own small businesses. Such as wage earners, tailors and those who rely on small shops and other such businesses, and those who live on a meager salary in the private sector, who are still waiting for their salaries due to a sudden lockdown, and are helpless.
Severe Inflation and Economic Crisis in the Country:
We will have to face such conditions in the coming days and perhaps throughout the year 2020, such as severe inflation and economic crisis in the country. The shortage of wheat and other crops due to the weather conditions will also add to the economic crisis. Our government is also taking commendable steps in this regard. These include rations distribution and 12,000 monthly payments and medical facilities. But our society has always had an unjust distribution of wealth, whether it is food or not. It has been impossible to reach food or aid to deserving people. People have been confined to their homes for several days now and businesses have closed.
We have some people who complain about poverty and inflation, and some of them. Those who take away the rights of others, and try to rob them of more, realizing that the government is perfect. As much as is desired, this hunger is called the hunger of lust. Which can never end, and these people seem to be deprived of the fear of God. There are some people who have a noble temperament, and feel ashamed to ask others, and such people have covered themselves in white. They seem silent and helpless for a reason, and helping them is a charity. As human beings, it is our duty to help such people in our neighborhood and around us to see who deserves it. Which we can serve for the sake of Allah, and feel the helplessness of those silent faces and the pain hidden in the soft eyes, and get rid of the hunger that is all around us.
Poverty Condition in Kenya:
Sensitive hearts have been shaken by the incident of a forced mother in the East African country of Kenya cooking rocks to feed hungry children. According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, Panina Behti Kitsau, a widow of eight children in Mombasa, Kenya’s second-largest city, starved to death on April 30, throwing stones into a pot to put her eight young children to sleep and deceive them. So that their children may live in the shelter that their mother is preparing food for them, and they may fall asleep waiting for it. Many sensitive people were shocked to hear of this first-of-its-kind incident, and with the help of a neighbor, people from all over Kenya sent aid to the mother who was cooking stones for the children.According to the report, the woman’s husband was killed by terrorists last year, after which the woman was working in the house and traveling. The widow went from house to house washing clothes, and used the money to support her household. But the corona virus caused a lockdown, which halted their work, and increased their difficulties.
