Actor Rishi Kapoor, known for his romantic roles in Bollywood, has died at a Mumbai hospital. He was 67 years old and had leukemia or leukemia. “He was rushed to a hospital where he was battling cancer and had difficulty breathing,” said his brother Randhir Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor returned to India in September 2019 after undergoing treatment in the United States for almost a year, after which he was hospitalized twice in early February due to ill health.

Rishi Kapoor started his regular career in Bollywood in 1973 with the film ‘Bobby’, which was a superhit film. He had earlier acted as a child actor in successful films like Shri 420 and My Name is Joker made under his family’s film banner. Rishi Kapoor has acted as a hero in Hindi films for almost 20 years and in the 1980s and 1990s he made superhit films like Khar Khel, Karz and Chandni. Later, Rishi Kapoor also did a lot of work as a supporting actor in films this decade.

Rishi Kapoor had worked with Imran Hashmi in his last film ‘The Body’, while he recently announced his new film on social media with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. The film was a Hindi remake of the Hollywood film The Intern.

A statement issued by the Kapoor family on Rishi Kapoor’s death said, “Our beloved Rishi Kapoor lost the battle with leukemia for two years, and passed away this morning. The doctors and medical staff said that they entertained us till the end.

“He was very funny and always cheerful during his treatment on two continents. His focus was on his family, friends, food and movies, and anyone who visited him would be amazed at how bravely he was fighting his illness.

The Kapoor family has also appealed to their friends and fans to abide by the law and restrictions on public gatherings in India due to the ongoing lockdown in Corona. News of Rishi Kapoor’s death came the day after Bollywood actor Irfan Khan died of cancer.

As soon as news of his death was received, there was a flurry of condolence messages on social media. Amitabh Bachchan, who has worked with legendary Bollywood actor and Rishi Kapoor in several successful films, also announced his death on his Twitter account, saying, “He is gone, Rishi Kapoor has passed away.”
